Giving

In His teaching, Jesus Christ said more about money than almost any other topic. He warned clearly about the danger of loving money more than God; He urged His followers to store up treasures in heaven; and He lovingly taught about the importance of being generous with what God has given us. It is this Christ-centred generosity, modelled on God’s own generosity in Christ, which will hopefully be at the heart of all of our giving.

“Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7)

We are mindful that to whom much is given, much is expected … and that with great privilege comes great responsibility.

What can you do?

  • make a regular gift towards OPERATING EXPENSES. We rely completely upon those attending SCC to meet our monthly financial obligations that include staff salaries, ministry expenses, mission endeavours, and training costs. Because we don’t want people to feel pressured into giving, we do not take a collection on a Sunday. Yet, we do believe the Bible urges Christians to contribute towards gospel work at their local church. So, we ask all who think of SCC as their spiritual home, to do so via EFT (ref: “OFFERINGS”) or Snapscan.
  • make a gift towards our FACILITIES FUND. This goes towards renting appropriate facilities for our ministries OR towards the purchase / maintenance of a new property (when we find it). Maybe you can give a regular amount each month towards this in addition to your gift above or you can make an ad-hoc donation through the course of the year. Please reference these gifts “FACILITIES”.
  • make a gift to one of our GOSPEL PARTNERS. You can support one or more of our partners or special projects directly through our giving channels … just make sure the EFT is correctly referenced for them using THEIR name.
  • make SCC a beneficiary in your WILL. Over the years, people have generously remembered gospel work through legacies in their wills.
