Community

Community Groups
Community Groups are the primary vehicle for discipleship at SCC. We gather in these groups to live life together, experience the gospel, wrestle with the truths of the Bible, love one another and participate in the mission of God.
These groups are where the Bible is applied to your everyday life, where you can be known and loved, pray and be prayed for. It is where you can express your faith in community. These groups are a vital part of our Christian walk and are at the heart of SCC.
There are a number of different groups, please contact Luke for more details of these or to find out which group will be right for you.

We currently meet in various homes, creating a safe and welcoming environment where teens can:
- Enjoy fun activities and share a meal together.
- Engage in meaningful conversations about Jesus, the Bible, and how faith shapes our everyday lives.
- Build friendships and invite their peers to experience community.
Our dedicated Youth leaders are passionate about guiding and supporting young people in their faith journey. We understand that the world can feel chaotic and uncertain, but we hold onto the truth that “our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ” – Philippians 3:20.
While we wait for our Saviour’s return, we stand firm in the truth of God’s Word and encourage our youth to share the good news of Jesus with confidence.
To find out more please contact Daleen.

We want to create a safe space and a culture of care as we navigate the ups and downs of life. This generally means meeting together once a month for fellowship and fun. We do a range of things from going out to play putt-putt, getting to know each other over a meal; spending time in God’s word to braaiing at someone’s house.
If you would like to find out more or join us, please contact Hannah.

Men’s Ministry
In a Christian family, a man’s role is to lead his family with love and responsibility, mirroring Christ’s love for the Church. At SCC, our aim is to provide opportunities to support and equip men to grow in their faith and leadership roles within their homes.

At SCC we aim to empower and equip women to grow in their faith and utilise their gifts. At our quarterly events we spend time in God’s Word, explore themes relevant to women’s lives and enjoy time of fellowship to foster connection across the age spectrum within our church. It’s a great place for visitors to experience the SCC community.

Hiking Group
We are blessed to be surrounded by Gods incredible creation and try to organise afternoon hikes of varying levels every couple of weeks. We aim for Sunday afternoons and are done before Youth, so bring the family, enjoy disconnecting from the wi-fi and get to know the people in your community a bit better.
For more details or to be added to the Hiking WhatsApp group please contact Debra

Pastoral Care
We want everyone at SCC to experience a sense of connection, community and care. Our Community Groups are the primary place where this happens – it’s there that people are loved, nurtured and looked after within the body of our church.
In addition, we have staff and volunteers who will visit and pray for the sick, for the lonely, and for those in need. Should you require a visit or prayer, please contact Luke.

Get involved / Serving in Ministry
We believe in every member ministry and encourage all at SCC to meaningfully exercise their gifts for the building up of the body of Christ. We are so thankful for our people who serve in every area of the church ensuring our ministries and church life run smoothly.
