Sunday, 19 July – Service Content

After kicking off this week’s service with our church Zoom call (link sent out in the WhatsApp group), we can continue with family worship and learning in our homes.

Kids & Teens

Israel’s Faith

Big idea:
God powerfully destroyed Jericho and gave his people victory – all Israel had to do was trust him and walk in obedience.

To teach that we can trust God to powerfully keep all his promises – all we must do is trust him and live in obedience to his word

The Bible reading for this week is Joshua 5:13-6:27.

Here’s a video for parents to watch as preparation for teaching the younger members of our church this morning:

You can download the printable worksheets here:

And here’s the extended lesson content, including teaching materials, games, videos, and questions.

These are linked in the PDF, but here’s a video covering the content and story from today’s lesson – it works best if you play the games first:

Memory verse:

Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshipped beyond the River Euphrates and in Egypt, and serve the Lord.

For younger children:

Now fear the Lord and serve him faithfully. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshipped and serve the Lord.

Joshua 24:14 (NIV)

Dear Lord Jesus,

We thank you that today we could come together and read your Word. Thank you that through your Word you speak to us. We thank you that it is in Your Word that we are able to learn more about You and how You want us as your people to live. Thank you that we are able to see from the stories in the bible that You are a promise keeping, trustworthy God.

We ask that you would help us to put our trust in You and to walk in obedience to Your Word.

We ask for your forgiveness for the many times we fail to trust you and we trust in ourselves instead – would You forgive us, correct us and change us.

When Grace is More than Grace

Here is the sermon for this week. The Bible reading for this sermon is 2 Corinthians 12:1-10.

If you can’t watch the video or would rather just listen to it, you can play the audio here:

Matt has assembled some music to complement the message from this morning:
